Take the overwhelm out of fall cleaning with this free ultimate fall cleaning checklist. Perfect for getting into the holiday spirit this season!

Pumpkin spiced lattes, cozy nights in and pumpkin patches are just some of the cute things that spring to mind when it comes to fall.

But, there’s something we often forget about until it’s too late (or until we have unannounced guests); cleaning.

We’ve all heard of a spring clean, but a fall clean can be just as rewarding when it comes to decluttering, cleaning and general home organization.

If you don’t know where to start, and are feeling completely overwhelmed with the idea of a fall clean, don’t worry, we’ve put together an ultimate checklist of 83 things to clean, declutter and organize so you don’t forget a thing!

Let’s get started!

Similar to spring cleaning, fall cleaning consists of a deep clean, tackling all of the seasonal tasks we don’t usually get round to doing in our weekly or daily cleaning routine.

Plus, it’s a super quick way to redecorate our homes for the magical, cozy season. We’re so ready for pumpkins, gorgeous throws and tri color quilts.

With this simple, but easy to follow checklist of course! This checklist is just for your inspiration, so don’t feel the need to do everything on this list. We recognise you’re busy (and only want to complete so much housework in a short timeframe…)

We’ve broken this checklist down by each room, so you can split your housework up by room if you wish.

  • Do a Pantry Audit

Remove cans and boxes from the shelves, dust and clean out the cupboards, throw away expired food, and donate any still in date food you don’t want anymore.

  • Clean Drains

Sprinkling a bit of baking soda down the drains can relieve some of that nasty smell.

  • Declutter Countertops

Do a quick check; have I used it recently? Will I use it again? Would I miss it if I threw it away?

  • Shampoo Rugs

The average carpet can hide 1lb of dirt even after vacuuming! Yes, really. To keep that freshness, you’ll want to shampoo and deep clean your rugs and carpets every season.

  • Clean Fridge & Freezer

If you’re feeling like a whole re-organization is needed (and just can’t seem to pack stuff in anymore), take a look at our IKEA hacks post, where we feature a cute and simple hack to tidy up your fridge.

  • Wipe Down Cabinets

Simple cleaning product and anti bac wipe should do the trick. If you have tough stains, try a dash of white vinegar (depending on your surface type).

  • Clean Out Garbage Cans & Take Out Trash

To clean the actual can, you’ll want to use some baking soda and vinegar together to remove stubborn dirt and grime. Throw in some activated charcoal after cleaning to help absorb any smells moving forward.

  • Wipe Down Tiles
  • Clean Inside Oven & Stove Top
  • Start a Fall Themed Stove Top Potpourri!
